Where are they now
LW Tutors helped me with my higher level high school and intro-level college classes. Although I wasn't struggling with school, they helped me refine my study skills and achieve the grades I wanted. Sarah and her team were also absolutely essential to my college application process! They guided me through every stage of my application, including choosing the right type of school and editing essays. I was accepted to 9 Universities and I owe it all to LW Tutoring!
Being someone who has always had more of a brain that gravitates towards creativity and the arts, I always struggled and felt like an outsider in math and science. Sarah really helped me by engaging me in ways that made sense to me and helped me to find the creativity and the joy in math and science. She made learning fun for me and that has stuck with me. I now am able to find joy in things that don't come naturally to me and find ways in which I can make them make sense to me. Sarah is more than a tutor, she doesn't just help you ace the test, she teaches you skills that will follow you throughout life no matter what field you choose!
I struggled with chemistry and pre-calc my junior and senior year. Going to tutoring not only increased my grades in both courses but I was actually able to get an understanding of the material we were taught in class. Sometimes in class it's hard to get the right teaching that you specifically need because you're in a class with 25+ other people. But at tutoring, you are in an environment with about 6 or less people so you're really able to get 1-on-1 help with personal questions you have. It's also a great way to form small study groups with people from your school who also attend tutoring with Sarah. When I attended tutoring, it was usually in the evening which is to your advantage because you are able to go home, try the work you've been given, and if you have any questions, you can take them to the tutoring sessions later that night to get help on the specific problems you need help with. Another reason why tutoring late in the day is helpful is because it gives you a chance to step away from the classroom and the material for a bit and give your mind a break, sometimes when you do this you are able to understand the material better later-on.
